What I Have Learned In Five Years With Microlocs

By Terez Howard (Affiliate links are included in this post). Five years with microlocs… as of Oct. 29, 2015.  The photos that follow were taken a couple weeks after my anniversary date, and since then, I got a little trim.  More on that later. For now, I would like to share what I have learned over these past five years: A super flaky scalp can be remedied.  I have always had a lot of dandruff, flakes, dry scalp chunks, whatever you want to call them.  The only constant my scalp seems to accept is change.  I know.  That sounds ridiculous, but hear me out.  I found that the Video Locktician’s Ooh Oil calmed down my flakes substantially for several months.

Micro Locs Hair Styles

By Terez Howard I love to try different hair styles for my micro locs.  Just check out my 29 Styles Challenge!  Now, my hair is much longer, and I feel that a whole new number of possibilities has opened up for me.  However, I find the layering in my hair makes updos challenging.  If any other ladies are experiencing this problem, I have a little word of advice. Work with what you’ve got! You might not be able to perfectly emulate a style you see on Pinterest, but you can always make it your own.     Related Posts:Summer Locs HairstylesA Sculpted Style For Micro LocsBraided Natural Hair Styles for GirlsA Look At 29 Different Locs StylesDay 14:

Curly Locs With Pipe Cleaners!

By Terez Howard So, it has been a long time since I used pipe cleaners to curl my locs.  I buckled down one morning after a run and shampooing, and I set my hair in pipe cleaners. I tried to wrap my micro locs very tightly to achieve long lasting curls.  But for some

Four Years With Microlocs

By Terez Howard I took these pictures back in October.  My hair is dripping wet from a shampooing.  At that time, I had worn my microlocs for four years.  I only say that in the past tense because now I have had my microlocs for four years and three months.  You didn’t think that I cut out my microlocs.  Did you?  Anyways, life has been extraordinarily busy.  Even though I don’t update often, I have been wearing my locs in several different styles.  I still love them! I would say that I have come a long way in these past four years.              Related Posts:If I Could Time Travel…What I Have Learned In Five

My Microlocs Have Grown

By Terez Howard Since I got my iPad, I have been addicted to one particular type of selfie, as you can see below. I feel like I am finally seeing some growth!  My hair has officially reached its longest length now.  I have had my locs for 3 1/2 years.  Although I usually wear curls, which takes away some length, I thought I could show my hair fresh out of the shower.  (Click on any of the photos for a larger image).          Related Posts:No Related Posts
