During my 29 Styles Challenge, I have experimented with making several different types of accessories. I have made a couple loc ties, some flower accessories and button bobby pins. I purchased a necklace charm at Wal-Mart for $1, and I intended to make it into a loc tie like my others. A couple days ago, I realized that I could make an even easier loc tie than the ones I made previously.
To make a loc charm: String elastic cording through the part of the charm where you would make it into a necklace. Knot it a couple times, and you’ve got a loc hair tie charm. It literally took me 2 minutes to make.
My homemade loc charm worked well with my two messy buns, one on top of the other. I intended to make them neat and uniform. But my locs were having no parts of neat this morning. I’m a bit under the weather, so I could perhaps blame my inability to create a neat bun on that. Nevertheless, I find that making messy styles end up very creative and unique.
If your locs are shorter than mine, you can place multiple buns down the center of your head. I think this would resemble a mohawk.
